Two ensembles, infinite colors

As with all Duality Strings releases, you can smoothly blend the cinematic width of the large Stage A ensemble with the crystalline detail of the smaller Stage B group. Both ensembles were recorded simultaneously in their own rooms at Vienna Synchron Stage, with a conductor in Stage A also directing the small ensemble via video link. This allowed the musicians to hear each other and perform as a single unified group—matching dynamics, timbre, note lengths, and phrasing flawlessly.

Combined with an extensive microphone setup, this approach gives you outstanding control over your sonic character: lush and widescreen, tight and propulsive, bright and cutting, warm and smooth, intimate and chamber-like, or bold and epic for high-energy rhythmic writing. It’s an organic, deeply flexible way to merge full-ensemble resonance with small-ensemble definition—all within one cohesive performance.
